Taylor Allison Swift, popular to the musical world by the name of Taylor Swift, is a multi talented young girl who originally hails from Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. She was born on December 13, 1989. She is a country pop singer, songwriter, self taught musician and even an actress and producer.
Ever since she debuted with her single “Tim McGraw” in 2006, she hasn’t looked back. Her debut album that released in 2006, named after her as “Taylor Swift”, went on to reach great heights of success and made a whooping 1.5 million. November 2008 saw the release of her second super successful album “Fearless” which bagged her a total of 4 Grammy Awards. She also won the prestigious Grammy for the Album of the Year. Her album “Fearless” maintained the top position at the Billboards 200 for an incredible eleven non-consecutive weeks, thereby creating a new record in her name. On 25th October, 2010, her third album “Speak now” was released in the markets.
Although Taylor’s first official acting debut in a feature film was made in the movie “Valentine’s Day” in 2010, she had appeared and collaborated in other TV shows, MTV documentaries and the 3D film, “Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience”. She is also lending her voice for an animated movie named “The Lorax”, set for release in 2012. Because of her huge following, cheap Taylor Swift tickets are sometimes hard to find.
Taylor was inspired by LeAnn Rimes and her other influences in the musical field included Shania Twain and Dolly Parton, and also her grandmother who was an opera singer by profession. She knew she wanted to be a country singer after attending LeAnn Rimes’s musical concerts. She started singing and song writing at a very young age and taught herself to play the guitar.
Her songs usually revolve around real life stories and her personal relationships, experiences and feelings. According to Taylor, her aim is to write and sing songs that her listeners can directly relate to. For instance, her hit song “Fifteen” is centered on her high school freshman year. “Forever and Always” was a song inspired by Joe Jonas, her former boyfriend.
Her video for “You Belong with Me” won her the Best Female Video award at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. The same year, on 11th November, Taylor became the youngest singer recipient of the CMA Entertainer of the year award. She also received the Entertain of the Year title at the 46th American Country Music Awards.
Having received such big honors and made new records at a very young age, one thing is for sure—there is no stopping Taylor Swift!
